Four days in Iceland packed in waterfalls, geothermal wonders, black sand beaches, and one of the coolest experiences we’ve ever had, snorkeling between tectonic plates. This trip felt adventurous, fast-paced, and unforgettable, with just enough downtime to soak it all in.
Favorite Stops or Experiences
Silfra Snorkeling
Hands down one of the coolest things we’ve ever done. The water was freezing, but the visibility and experience of floating between continents was worth every second.
Skógafoss Hike
After climbing 527 steps, continuing past the main waterfall made the experience even better. The smaller falls along the trail felt quiet and underrated compared to the crowds below.
Reykjavík Evenings
From wandering Rainbow Road to chatting with local bartenders during happy hour, Reykjavík felt cozy, walkable, and full of character, especially at night.
What the Trip Was Really Like
The pace was active and full, especially the first two days. Weather played a role — cold wind at Reynisfjara made it feel much colder than the temperature suggested. Some mornings started slower than planned, but that flexibility helped us enjoy the trip without feeling rushed.
Trying fermented shark? Once was enough.
Final Thoughts
This trip worked because it balanced adventure with intention. It wasn’t about seeing everything — it was about seeing the right things in the right order. Iceland is dramatic, humbling, and absolutely worth the planning it requires.
Best for travelers who love road trips, don’t mind changing weather, and want experiences that feel truly one-of-a-kind.
